• Graduated in Law in the year 1974 from Banaras Hindu University. Doctorate- from Victoria University, Manchester (U.K.) in the year 1979.
• Enrolled as an Advocate in April 1974.
• Practised in Supreme Court and Delhi High Court in Civil, Criminal, Commercial, Taxes and Services Matters.
• Worked as Counsel for the Government of Uttar Pradesh in Supreme Court and Standing Counsel for NOIDA in Supreme Court and Delhi High Court.
• Elevated as permanent Judge of the Allahabad High Court on Apr 05, 1995. Transferred to Rajasthan High Court on 19/07/1997. Again transferred to Allahabad High Court on 13/03/2003.
• Appointed as Chief Justice of Orissa High Court on Jul 16, 2008.
