Born on 02.05.1936 in Lalgola Murshidabad, West Bengal. Started his early education at Lalgola M.N. Academy, Lalgola. After passing matriculation, came to Calcutta for higher studies, completed B.Sc.(Hons.), M.A. and L.L.B from Calcutta University. After completing L.L.B. enrolled himself with West Bengal Bar Council on 12.04.1964 and practiced in High Court at Calcutta and District & Sessions Court in Berhampore Murshidabad, West Bengal in Civil, Criminal, Constitutional and Labour Laws. Joined West Bengal Higher Judicial Service on 25.05.1978 and was appointed as Additional District & Sessions Judge, Midnapore. Worked as District & Sessions Judge, Cooch Behar, Andaman & Nicobar islands, Inspector General of Registration, West bengal and Birth, Death and Marriage, Registrar General, Judge City Civil & Sessions Court, Calcutta, Secretary to the Government of West Bengal, Judicial Department till his elevation as Judge of Calcutta High Court on 28.03.1994. Transferred to Allahabad High Court on 19.04.1994 and retired on 01.05.1998. |
