Notice
All learned Advocates are informed that Roll of
Advocates at Allahabad has been notified on the official Website of the Court (www.alllahabadhighcourt.in) by the order of Hon’ble
the Chief Justice dated 04-03-2013.
In Contempt no. 758 of 2013 of Lucknow Bench,
Hon’ble Mr. Justice Sudhir Agarwal has been pleased to pass the order dated
09-05-2013 as follows:
2. This Court may take judicial notice that Advocate's Roll for
Allahabad and Lucknow both contemplated under Rule 3-A of Chapter XXIV has already
been notified in February, 2013. Rule 3-A(i) provides that unless the Court
grants leave, an advocate who is not in the Advocate's Roll in the High Court
at Allahabad or Lucknow shall not be allowed to appear, act or plead in the
High Court at Allahabad or Lucknow as the case might be unless he files
appointment along with an advocate who is on such roll for Allahabad cases at
Allahabad and for Lucknow cases at Lucknow.

4. In the facts and circumstances, I direct Registrar General and
Registrar at Lucknow Bench to issue appropriate instructions to all concern
that while entertaining fresh cases as also Vakalatnamas, they will check as to
whether learned counsel, who has filed application or writ petition or any
other case or put in appearance is one whose name finds mention in Advocate's
roll of Allahabad or Lucknow, as the case may be, and it is in compliance of
Rule 30-A(i) of Chapter XXIV of High Court Rules. If an advocate is not on
advocate's roll of concerned High Court, Registry cannot accept his appearance
unless he is permitted by Court.
All learned Advocates are
therefore requested to mention their Advocate Roll No. also allotted by
the Court in all fresh Cases, Applications and Vakalatnama along with their
Enrolment no. & year failing which Cases / Applications / Vakalatnama shall
not be accepted by Registry unless the Court grants leave.
