• Enrolled as an Advocate in Bar Council of U.P. on 13/09/1975.
• LL.M. (Gold Medalist), LLD. Chancellor's Medallist in Law.
• Specialization in Constitutional Law, International Law & Taxation Law.
• After completing his education, he started practice as an Advocate in Allahabad High Court. Later, he served as Law Teacher in Bareily College; Dungar (PG) College, Bikaner; M.D. University, Rohtak; H.P. University, Shimla.
• He was also a Visiting Professor in L.B.S. National Academy, Mussoorie; Internal Security Academy, Mt. Abu; and various Institutes in Russia and Poland.
• The Hague Academy of International Law, The Hague, has awarded a fellowship to Dr Chandra. He was a Visiting Professor in Institute of State and Law, Mascow. He was Constitutional Advisor to Government of Zanzibar as well as a Judge, High Court, Zanzibar.
• He was a Consultant (Honorary) to the Constitution Review Commission of Zambia too. He was also appointed to the Sultanate of Oman as first Legal Advisor.
• He also served the Law Commission of India as Director (Additional Law Officer) since 1989 to 1997. He was also a Judicial Member in the Income Tax Appellate Tribunal for more than a decade (since 1997 to 2008).
• He is an author for 15 books and 35 research papers/articles on various aspects of law.
• Elevated as Additional Judge on 06/08/2008. Took oath as permanent Judge on 19/04/2010.
