• Graduated both in Science and Arts in 1968 and 1973 respectively and in law from the University of Calcutta in 1974.
• Enrolled as an Advocate on 13th March, 1975.
• Practised at Calcutta High Court in Civil, Constitutional & other areas.
• Elevated as permanent Judge of the Calcutta High Court on May 12, 1997, transferred to Allahabad High Court and took oath on Jan 07, 2005.
• Appointed as Acting Chief Justice from Feb 08, 2010 to Jun 25, 2010, from Jul 31, 2011 to Aug 04, 2011 and from Aug 08, 2012 till date of retirement.
